Looking at a work of art may be overwhelming at first practice. Instead Art Educators can focus their discussions with 'Seeing Questions.' Students might be asked to: describe, relate, analyze, interpret, or evaluate a specific piece of art.
I created these 'Seeing Question' cards based off from the following questions created by Professor Craig Roland of the University of Florida, Gainesville. He is the creator of Art Junction and Art Education 2.0.
I plan on laminating the cards, hole punching, and securing them with a metal hinged snap ring and creating one- two stacks of cards for each art table. I envision using them for playing games or asking students to choose a question for a written reflection and assessment. It will be a fun and simple way to provoke discussion and thinking about art!
